I had to write something else as I couldn’t bear the thought of cold and flu related adverts including Bronchitis being at the top of my blog for the entire weekend! So here is a little anecdote (it's not particularly interesting, but it introduces some un-cold-like words to the front page!)...
I used to work for an accountancy firm. During my time there I was asked to (nay told to) appear in a corporate video. I’d forgotten all about this until I saw a blog when I was browsing the other night asking “does anyone remember corporate videos?” Well believe me, they are still going strong! A friend of mine who still works at said firm told me that they made another short video this year in which one of the partners in the firm dressed up in a gorilla suite (no, I can’t see the relevance either and I worked there over three years). The only thing I remember about the filming of the video I was in was that at the end the producer asked me if I had ever considered reading the weather on TV. I’m not sure why he felt the need to ask that…
I also recall being completely mortified at the first showing of the film and remember the jeers of my peers as my face filled the huge screen. Maybe I would have been happier reading the weather
.
I am about to make the trip over to Sincil Bank and get myself settled in the Centre Spot (Club Bar, not the one on the pitch) with a Legendary Lincoln City Hot Pork Roll (a MUST for visiting fans - everyone is welcome in the Centre Spot! - great plug for it there!). I have to do this as it is a night-match ritual. I have also been banned by the programme seller from wearing my away shirt to home matches as she thinks it is unlucky... it is one thing having your own "lucky clothes" and rituals, but when other people are relying on you to make some luck for them, the pressure is intense!
Did I mentioned that I'm soooo excited that Ricky Butcher is back! *happy little dance around the room*.
For those of you collecting squad pictures of the Imps in a Panini-Style sticker album (can you still get those!!), here is a picture of me meeting my other favourite player, Welsh Under 21 International captain Lee Beevers (or Bee Leevers). I don't think Panini usually allow a fan in the pictures though, so these are unique!
I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend and here's to three points tonight and no coughing and sneezing on my Ely night out tomorrow!
the Impette x
